Hero MotorCorp has launched the 2016 Achiever 150 in India. Read our first ride impression of the Hero Achiever 150 here. The prices for the same are Rs 61.800 for the drum brakes variant and Rs 62,800 for the front disc version, all prices ex-Delhi. Apart from the design changes, the 2016 Achiever 150 comes equipped with a 149.2cc, 4-stroke single-cylinder motor that makes 13.6PS at 8,000rpm and generates 12.80Nm at 5,000rpm. The design of the Hero Achiever 150 is fairly restrained. This is no accident. Hero is targeting customers moving up from a 125, and this staid styling gives them, according to the company, a sense of connection
This bike has a 240mm drum brake but Hero will also offer a drum front brake version for ₹1,000 less. Hero says the aggressive push on the disc brake hinges on a change in customer buying pattern as well as the inherent advantages of a disc brake.

Look familiar? The blue switch turns on Hero's start-stop gizmoid, i3S. When you stop and shift to neutral, it'll turn the engine off and restart it when pull the clutch in

The engine is pretty similar to the old Achiever unit as well, but Hero has new mapping to offer more rideability
Hero promises 50kmpl on the WMTC (World Motorcycle Travel Cycle) which the company says is closer to the the Indian user's experiential mileage than the IDC
The basic chassis isn't markedly different from the old Achiever - the wheelbase, steering geometry etc. don't change. However, Hero has retuned the suspension and says the bike is more comfortable
The white model with the tricolour motif is a special edition. 70 units will be made to celebrate the milestone of 70 million Heros, but the pricing and availability have not yet been revealed
