Jeep's latest entrant in the SUV space in India is the Compass. The 2017 Jeep Compass is an important offering by the American car manufacturer. The Jeep Compass is being manufactured at the company's Ranjangaon facility near Pune. The same will be the global hub for all right-hand drive vehicles of the company. In addition to India, the Jeep Compass is being manufactured at Toluca in Mexico, Pernambuco in Brazil and Guangzhou in China. The automobile brand has made a total investment of $280 million on its India plant.
In terms of safety, the Jeep Compass will come equipped with six airbags, traction control, hill start assist as well as 50 active and passive safety features, including ABS with EBD, disc brakes and cornering lamps as standard. While the prices of 2017 Jeep Compass have been not announced yet, we believe it should range between Rs 18-25 lakh. The diesel variant of the Jeep Compass will only be offered with a 6-speed manual when it is launched in August. The automatic will be available later in the year
The 4x4 variant of the Jeep Compass gets four modes - Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud. They engage the 4x4 lock and adjust engine, throttle and steering settings
The Jeep Compass diesel debuts the Multijet II engine in India. It produces 173PS of power and 350Nm of torque
The instrument cluster in the Jeep Compass has large, easy-to-read dials. The display unit in the middle shows plenty of information and can be customised to display what you want to see
