The Mini Cooper John Cooper hot hatchback has been launched in India at the price of Rs 43.5 lakh ex-showroom. For the 2019 model year, the JCW gets cosmetic and interior updates and the bump in power. At the Rs 43.5 lakh rupee mark, the Mini Cooper JCW does not have a direct rival, however, the hatchback can compete against the Skoda Octavia RS, the duo being the go-to cars for spirited driving.
The Mini JCW is available only as a three-door
The hatchback will get a sporty paint scheme and stripes on the hood
The bumpers are chunky and have been redesigned for the 2019 model year
This Mini Cooper sports John Cooper Works badge on the grille, apron and the bootlid
The tail lamp has the Union jack highlight split into two on either unit
On the inside, the Mini Cooper JCW gets an 8.9-inch infotainment screen along with a Harman Kardon music system
To distinguish further, the JCW gets the JCW spec seats with red stitching on the steering as well
The Mini Cooper JCW uses a mechanically uprated (new pistons, turbo and exhaust) version of the same two-litre turbocharged petrol powertrain
The power has been bumped by 24PS, and the 2019 Mini Cooper JCW has an output of 234PS and 320Nm torque
The engine comes mated to an eight-speed transmission and the hatch makes the 0-100 kmph in 6.1 seconds
The Mini Cooper JCW gets four-piston Brembo brakes which are cooled by functional vents in the front bumper
