Image Gallery: BMW M8 Coupe and Competition unveiled
Team OVERDRIVE drove the BMW 8-Series recently, and this time around the Germans have unveiled the more athletic versions of the same - M8 Coupe and Competition. The cars pack more oomph as they carry the 'M' badge and are available in both coupe and convertible body styles. That said, the cars are scheduled to be unveiled later this month in Munich between June 25 and 27, 2019. The M8 Coupe and the Competition Coupe will come to India but expect a launch sometime in 2020. The M8 Coupe rivals the Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupe and the Bentley Continental GT.
The cars are available in both, coupe and convertible body styles
The M8 has a power output of 608PS at 6,000rpm and 750Nm of torque between 1,800rpm and 5,600rpm
The M8 Competition Coupe, on the other hand, has a power output of 633PS at 6,000rpm and 750Nm of torque between 1,800rpm and 5,600rpm
Both the coupes are powered by a 4.4-litre twin turbo V8 engine that is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox
The coupes are available with 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels
The headlamp unit is all-LED
Deactivating stability control, the coupes turn rear-wheel drive
The feature list also includes configurable engine response, damper setting, steering feedback
The cars get an all-digital instrument cluster
With an eight-speed automatic transmission, the cars get paddle-shifters
