The new Indian Scout has been a tremendous success for Indian Motorcycles globally. And now the Scout gains a smaller brother that debuted at the 2015 EICMA show in Milan. The new Scout Sixty gets its name from the 60-cubic inch (999cc) 60-degree V-twin. Clearly the Scout Sixty will create a more affordable entry point into the Indian range - a highly desirable product to enter new and emerging markets with.

The Indian Scout Sixty's engine makes 78PS and it runs a 5-speed gearbox (the Scout gets a 6-speed gearbox). Internationally, the Sixty sits about $2000 under the Scout though it shares the same frame, suspension and brakes as the more expensive model. The Sixty doesn't come with optional ABS but that could change as more and more markets move towards mandatory ABS.

Like the other Indian Scout, the Sixty also gets a range of customisation options. Indian also intends to take the Sixty to the flat track races, fettled by Roland Sands Design.

We expect Indian Motorcycles India to shortly announce the availability of the Indian Scout Sixty in India at a price slightly lower than the Indian Scout. The Scout was very impressive and the Sixty should be as well with a slightly lower price.

The Scout Sixty might be the lower price, entry level machine but it shares all of the chassis - frame, suspension and brakes with the full Scout

The Indian Scout Sixty carries the same striking retro-modern design exemplified by the sharp tank

The new V-twin is a 60-degree unit that displaces 999cc and makes 78PS. The external details still retain the quirky loveliness of the older Scout engine

As usual, Indian's motorcycles show a wealth of detail that really does look very upmarket

Naturally, Indian will have a range of accessories to allow personalisation of the Scout Sixty

The Scout's highlight was its engine and it made for a great riding experience. Cannot wait to test the smaller sibling!
