Lexus recently made its way into the Indian market with three models - the EX 300h, the RX 450h and its flagship model, the LX 450d. The Lexus LX 450d is the only vehicle in its Indian portfolio that doesn't feature a hybrid powertrain. Instead, it gets a 4.5-litre, V8 turbo-diesel which produces 260PS and 650Nm. It goes up against the SUVs like the Porsche Cayenne and Range Rover LWB Autobiography. Here's our image gallery from the first drive event in Ootacamund.

The 4.5-litre V8 diesel motor in the Lexus LX 450d makes 260PS and 650Nm, and is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission
The Lexus LX 450d's centre console and steering wheel are pretty crowded with buttons, but build quality is top-notch

The perforated leather seats are big and comfy. The leather used, in fact, one of the best we've seen in luxury cars in India. Notice the big tablet displays to keep rear passengers entertained
The Lexus LX 450d's instrument cluster is quite large and offers quite a bit of information. Notice the ammeter and oil temperature gauge - we don't see them too often these days
Mouse pad sort of control is used for jogging between menus on the infotainment system. However, like
