Lexus recently set up shop in India with three models. This one, the RX 450h, is the brand's flagship hybrid car, and sits below the Lexus LX 450d SUV. The Lexus RX 450h is crossover and is available in two variants - Luxury and F Sport. The Luxury variant costs Rs 1.07 crore (ex-Delhi), while the F Sport is around Rs 2 lakh more. We were at the first drive event in Ootacamund, and drove the Lexus RX 450h F Sport, and here are our images from there.
Like all of the brand's latest cars, the Lexus RX 450h features a very aggressive design theme
The Lexus RX 450h gets sensible 18-inch wheels with high-profile 235/65-section tyres. This decision was carefully taken for our market conditions
The large, sharp LED tail lights are quite striking to look at
Lexus' signature spindle grille is a very in-your-face design element. It certainly does catch one's attention
The Lexus RX 450h features very sharp and angular design elements all around. The fog lamp housing is just one such example
There is just the right amount of chrome trims all around the Lexus RX 450h. This means it's neither gaudy, nor understated
The Lexus RX 450h's 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, along with an electric motor, makes 310PS
The Lexus RX 450h's cabin is made of top-notch materials. The top-spec F Sport trim, which you see here, features paddle shifters, sportier seats and a few extra garnishes over the standard Luxury trim
The door pockets on the Lexus RX 450h aren't fixed, which means fitting oddly shaped bottles is easier
The elegant, dark rose colour scheme is available only on the top-spec Lexus RX 450h F Sport
The centre console is far from being boring. The various shapes and design elements make the cabin a very nice place to be in
The infotainment system's UI is fairly easy to use, but the controller is very sensitive and hard to use on bumpy roads. The highlight, though, is the lovely 15-speaker Mark Levinson system
The Lexus RX 450h gets five preset drive modes - Eco, EV, Normal, Sport and Sport+. There is also an Individual mode
