The iconic Porsche 911 has gone hybrid - the first step toward electrification before the complete range goes all-electric in a decade or two. The hybrid 911 will be available in the Carrera GTS form with a virtually new 3.6-litre six-pot engine paired with a single electric turbocharger, an electric motor, and a small battery pack. Having said that, the good old 3.0-litre engine continues with the other 911 versions, such as Carrera.
The new 3.6-litre unit makes 485PS and 570Nm of torque, while the total system output is rated at 541PS and 610Nm, 61PS more than the previous model. With this, the 911 Carrera GTS can go from zero to 100kmph in three seconds, with 200kmph coming in 10.5 seconds. Not to mention, it can provide a top speed of 312kmph. Mated to this engine is a new eight-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission. While these were the most significant updates, Porsche has also updated its design and interior. Let us check that out in a picture gallery.
