India spec Nissan X-Trail unveiled ahead of August launch
The Nissan X-Trail is now in its 4th generation and after a long wait, the car is coming back to India. Nissan Motor India has unveiled the Indian spec SUV and it will come to the country via the CBU route. The new X-Trail will be sold alongside Nissan's only other offering in the country, the Magnite.
Based on the CMF-C platform, the X-Trial will be available in India only in its 7-seater configuration. The X-Trail measures 4,680 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, 1,725 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,705 mm. Ground clearance is rated at 210 mm. Regarding appearance, the X-Trail adopts the well-known family look with the large V-motion front grille and the LED headlights positioned on the bumper.
The X-Trail will be available in just 3 colours: Pearl White, Champagne Silver and Diamond Black. The SUV has heavy body cladding and 20-inch alloy wheels on the sides. The Nissan logo is positioned in the centre of the back, directly over the "X-Trail" badging, and wraparound LED tail lights are on each side of it.
Nissan X-Trail: PowertrainThe updated India-specific X-Trail will get a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with 12V mild hybrid technology that powers on the front wheel. Mated to a shift-by-wire CVT transmission it delivers 163PS and 300Nm of torque.
Nissan X-Trail: InteriorThe inside of the fourth-generation Nissan X-Trail has an all-black layout. The features list includes a floating 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone AC, a 12.3-inch digital driver's display, a panoramic sunroof, paddle shifters, a wireless charger and sliding and reclining 2nd-row seats. Safety features encompass 7 airbags, limited slip differential, and front and rear parking sensors with a 360-degree camera.
Nissan X-Trail: Price
Upon its arrival, via the CBU route, the X-Trial will take on the likes of more premium SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster and so on. We don't expect the X-Trial to be cheap either as it could be priced closer to Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom).
