Indian Motorcycles launches the Chief lineup in India starting at Rs 20.75 lakh
Indian Motorcycles have had an awfully quiet 2021 where they haven't really participated in India's market at all. This won't be the same strategy for next year though. Indian Motorcycles has launched its 2022 Indian Chief lineup in the country on August 27, 2021.
The Indian Chief range will consist of 3 bikes, the Chief Dark Horse, the Chief Bobber Dark Horse, and the Super Chief Limited, with prices starting from Rs 20.75 lakh ex-showroom. Indian Motorcycles announced this range way back in March 2021 and had also pre-bookings for the same at Rs 3 lakh.
The engine and chassis of all three bikes are identical. They're driven by an Indian Thunderstroke 116 engine with a total displacement of 1,890cc and produces 171Nm of torque in the newest trim, which is housed in a tubular double-cradle frame.
The visual attractiveness of the three is what sets them apart. The Chief Dark Horse is a blacked-out cruiser with alloys and a flat handlebar, but the Bobber Dark Horse is more traditional, as shown by spoke rims and tiny ape hangers. The chrome-laden Super Chief Limited sits atop the range, with a large windscreen, long handlebars, saddlebags, and a pillion seat, making it perfect for racking up kilometres.
All-LED lighting, a TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, three rider modes: sport, regular and tour, cruise control, smartphone connectivity, and a USB port are included on the three Chiefs. Go here for more information about the 2022 Indian Chief lineup.
The Indian Chief series will compete in India against the BMW R18 and Harley-Davidson Fat Boy. The Triumph Rocket 3 is another option at a comparable pricing bracket.
