Is this the first ever facelift for the Kia EV6?

Kia has been working on an extensive redesign of its most futuristic vehicle, the EV6, which debuted in India last year. The Kia EV6 has been photographed with a fresh facelift that includes various design changes. According to reports, the South Korean company is planning to introduce the updated EV in the latter half of next year in its native nation.

Kia EV6 facelift: Updates

This EV6 mule was seen in a South Korean parking lot, and while it is carefully covered, certain design cues from the facelift are evident. While the general bodyshell of the car will remain the same, Kia appears to be focused on the car's front appearance, which will be completely revamped with this facelift.

The new headlights are one of the first things you'll notice. The EV6 has larger, extended headlights that are more in line with the company's recent EV launches. Despite the camouflage, the profile is identical, with minor differences in the handles and wheels. On the back, there are no visible modifications, although the light bar and rear lights are likely to be upgraded.

Kia is anticipated to pack the improved EV6 with the newest technology. Kia's Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) OS, comprising dual-panel 12.3-inch instrument and infotainment displays, is expected.

Kia EV6: India

Currently in India, the EV6 packs a 77.4kWh battery pack as standard, capable of delivering up to 708km of ARAI-tested range. Speaking specifics of the drivetrains, the Kia EV6 in its single-motor layout produces 229PS/350Nm torque, while the dual-motor AWD model produces 325PS/605Nm torque. Both can accept up to 350kW charge rates, for a 10-80 per cent charge in just 18 minutes, while a 50kW fast charger will achieve the same feat in 73 minutes.

While the winner of the 2023 Green Car Award by ICOTY does behold a starting price of Rs 60.95 lakh, it does come with the aesthetics and features to speak for itself. The EV6 features a large electric sunroof, powered tailgate, dual 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment and driver's instrumentation, a large heads-up display with augmented reality and a 14-speaker Meridian sound system.
