Kia Seltos facelift makes Indian debut, bookings to open from July 14

Kia India has introduced the Seltos facelift, which includes several new features as well as the reintroduction of the turbo-petrol engine. This is the first big upgrade to the nameplate, which has been available in India since August 2019. Pre-orders for the revamped mid-size SUV will begin on July 14, 2023, with a launch scheduled for the following month.

The new Seltos will be available in three trim levels: X Line, GT Line, and Tech Line. Customers may select from eight color themes, including an exclusive Matte Graphite colour theme, in the meanwhile.

Kia Seltos facelift: Design

The Seltos facelift includes a slightly wider bumper, body-coloured inserts in the fog lamp housing, updated headlights with new LED daytime running lights that extend into the grille, and the four-block fog lamp design.

The new 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, which are also used on the international-spec vehicle, are the most noticeable difference in the Seltos. The most noticeable alterations are at the back, where the Seltos now has a new set of integrated tail lights that seem contemporary. The overall look is completed with a modified rear bumper.

Kia Seltos facelift: Powertrain

Kia has also included its new 160PS and 253Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with this upgrade. The new engine will be paired with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The 115PS, 144Nm, 1.5-litre petrol engine and the 116PS, 250Nm, 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine will remain in the Seltos facelift. The former will be available with a 6-speed manual or a CVT transmission, while the latter will be available with a 6-speed iMT and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Kia Seltos facelift: Interior and Features

The Seltos facelift now has a twin-screen setup on the inside, with two 10.25-inch monitors, one for the digital instrument clusters and the other for the infotainment touchscreen. Kia has added a few additional features to the Seltos to make it more enticing. A panoramic sunroof, electronic parking brake with auto hold, dual-zone temperature control, and, most crucially, ADAS are among the features.

The inside of the X Line trim will have a new sage green colour, while the GT Line variations will have a new black and white interior.

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, linked car technology, ventilated front seats, driving and traction modes, a Bose sound system, and a heads-up display are some of the features carried over from the outgoing model. It also has six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system for safety.

Kia Seltos facelift:

Given the massive amount of changes, we expect the facelifted Seltos to fetch a significant premium over the previous model, which was priced from Rs 10.89 lakh. The Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and the future Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross will all compete with the Seltos facelift.
