Kia Seltos gets top-spec Gravity variant in South Korea
Kia Motors has launched a new top-spec variant of the Kia Seltos in its South Korean home market. This trim is being called Gravity and adds numerous cosmetic details over the standard car.
The Kia Seltos Gravity gets exterior changes like a chrome-studded Tiger Nose grille, a distinct 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, silver rear skid-plate finish and an all-grey look for the interiors. The interiors of the international-spec Seltos are slightly different from that of the Indian car, with their free-standing touchscreen system. This is against the twin-screen layout of the Indian cars.
Mechanically, the Kia Seltos Gravity is powered by a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol motor. This unit puts out 177PS and 265 Nm. A 1.6-litre diesel engine can also be had that makes 136PS and 320 Nm. Both come paired with the seven-speed DCT also seen on the India-spec car. Further, the Korean Seltos also can be had with AWD as an option. In this spec, the torsion beam rear suspension is replaced by a more sophisticated multi-link set-up.
The Korean Seltos gets much the same features as the Indian car with highlights being the full LEd lighting, the HUD, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, 360-degree camera with blind-view camera, ambient lighting, a sunroof, Bose audio system and so on. In addition to this, the Korean Seltos gets a full suite of driver assistance systems like, forward Collison avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, rear-cross traffic alert and safe exit assist.
Prices for the Kia Seltos in Korea start at KRW 19.34 million or Rs 12.06 lakh. The Indis-spec car undercuts this significantly by being priced from Rs 9.89 lakh, ex-showroom.
