Kia Seltos Nightfall edition launched in the US
Kia Motors made its debut in India with the Seltos and it garnered great sales. Similarly, the Seltos is one of the best-selling crossovers from the Korean carmaker in the US market as well. The Nightfall edition of the Seltos brings the new KIA logo and some styling bits to differentiate from the regular Seltos. As we stated earlier, new standard safety features like front collision avoidance assist, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, high beam assist etc are now being offered as standard across the range.
The Nightfall edition sits below the top-spec SX AWD and replaces the S AWD variant. The design changes with the Nightfall edition are subtle. The radiator grille is now blacked out and so are the side sills and roof rails. The 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels are finished in matte black colour. Coming to the interiors, the Nightfall edition features a new flat-bottomed steering wheel with the new KIA logo. Other changes include the option of Plum leather interior, 10.25-inch touchscreen with UVO connect, remote engine start and automatic climate control.
Kia offers only two petrol engine options with the Seltos in the US market. The 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated engine produces 146Hp and comes mated to an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). The other option is the 1.6-litre T-GDI motor that churns out 175Hp and comes mated to a 7-speed DCT. The base price of the LX AWD 2.0 is USD 22,490 (Rs 16.33 lakh) and the top-spec SX AWD retails at USD 27,990 (Rs 20.33 lakh). It is worth noting that the US prices don't include USD 1,175 destination charges.
