Lamborghini Urus hits double century for sales in India
Lamborghini India yesterday celebrated the delivery of the 200th Lamborghini Urus in the country. With 80 percent of the customers being first-time Lamborghini purchasers in India, Urus has been generating sustained growth since it was originally unveiled in India in 2018.
With more than 20,000 units sold worldwide, the Lamborghini Urus is already the best-selling Lamborghini. The Urus is most frequently purchased by Indian customers in the colours Giallo Auge (famous yellow), Nero Noctis (black), and Bianco Monocerus (white).
The SUV reached the 100-unit sales threshold in March 2021.
The 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 in the Urus produces 650PS and 850Nm, and an 8-speed ZF automated gearbox sends that power to all four wheels. A peak speed of 305 kmph and a 0-100 kmph time of 3.6 seconds are both stated for the Lamborghini SUV.
After its enormous success, Lamborghini is getting ready to update the Urus midlife by the end of 2022, with a potential debut in India by the beginning of 2023. It may adopt the Huracan's naming convention and take the name Urus Evo.
Sharad Agarwal, Head of Lamborghini India, commented: "India was amongst the first few markets to launch Urus as soon as it was unveiled globally and it has been instrumental in driving growth for us in India. Our customers in India appreciate the driving dynamics, the versatility and the uncompromising Lamborghini DNA which the Urus offers. The Urus has expanded our reach to new geographies in India and brought in newer segments of customers into the Lamborghini family."
The Lamborghini Urus is priced at Rs 3.10 crores in India.
