Made in India Royal Enfield Bullet Trials Works Replica to be sold in international markets soon
Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer, Royal Enfield has started accepting bookings for the Bullet Trials Works Replica for the international markets. Company dealerships have started committing to deliveries in the end week of July. The same was launched in India earlier this year in two model options, the Bullet Trials 350 priced at Rs 1.62 lakh and the more powerful Bullet Trails 500 available at Rs 2.07 lakh, ex-showroom. This one is more of a design tweak than a more functional off-roader compared to the standard Bullet, the Trial Works replica is essentially a tribute to the RE Trials machine, ridden by Johnny Brittain, that has earned victories in more than 50 championships that took place between 1948 and 1965.
In terms of equipment, the RE Bullet Trials Works Replica comes with a single seat, a luggage carrier in place of a pillion seat, fork gaiters and knobby tyres for better traction while riding off road. The exhaust is also upswept for better water wading ability. The front and fenders are shorter and raised to account for wheel movement, that's courtesy the extra suspension travel. All of which highlight the design inspiration that comes from the 80's Trials motorcycles. Further, the chassis and the main stand have been given a distinguishing paint scheme, and it does look neat. The Bullet Trials will be positioned above the standard Bullet priced at £4,199 (Rs 3.67 lakh).
As for the Bullet twins, the Trials Works Replica will be offered in two engine options, 20PS/ 28Nm 346cc and 27.5PS/ 41.3Nm 499cc. Both motors are paired to a five-speed transmission. The trials are mechanically identical to the classics. The engines produce the same power and torque, and there is no change to the gearing as well.
