Mahindra BE.05 teased in production-ready guise
In August of last year, Mahindra unveiled the BE.05 SUV concept. The firm has revealed a series of photographs of the production-ready model, which has previously been sighted testing in India, ahead of its unveiling. The Mahindra BE.05 will be available in October 2025.
The BE.05, along with the rest of the BE SUV lineup, was unveiled on Independence Day last year. The electric SUV was sighted earlier this year in India, and we've also seen its inside, although those were pre-production test mules.
Mahindra BE.05: Design
The company's teaser image shows a birds-eye perspective of the BE.05, with the massive glass roof in the centre. From this position, you can also see the wraparound windshield image.
The design also incorporates a sculpted bonnet, which adds to its visual attractiveness. Moving backwards, an eye-catching roof-mounted split spoiler takes the stage, while the tailgate with an LED lightbar looks fantastic.
Mahindra BE.05: PowertrainThe EV-specific INGLO platform underpins Mahindra's BE 05. The car is likely to have a 79-kWh battery pack with a range of up to 450 kilometres. Mahindra claims 175 kW rapid charging capabilities, allowing the BE 05 to charge from 5 percent to 80 percent in less than half an hour.
The BE.05 will be available with 2WD and 4WD drivetrains. According to Mahindra, rear-wheel-drive models might generate up to 285PS, while all-wheel-drive variants could provide up to 394PS.
Mahindra BE.05: Interior
The vehicle is expected to include a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, electrically adjustable front seats, a freestanding completely digital instrument cluster, fabric door handles, and a floating centre console on the inside.
The Mahindra BE.05 SUV, which will be on sale in October 2025, will sit above the XUV400 EV and will compete directly with the Tata Curvv EV, which is also expected to go on sale in 2024.
