Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e top variants launched in India

In November, Mahindra launched the BE 6 and XEV 9e at a starting price of Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand has just launched the top variant of these electric SUVs, Pack 3, which will be priced at Rs 26.90 lakh and Rs 30.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

The BE 6 and XEV 9e will have 3 variants - Pack 1, Pack 2 and Pack 3. Prices for the mid-spec variant, Pack 2 are yet to be announced but bookings for Pack 3 will begin from February 14 with deliveries set to begin in March 2025.

Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e: Powertrains

Both SUVs are based on Mahindra's scalable and modular born-EV INGLO platform. Both cars will also feature the same 59kWh and 79kWh LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) batteries and first-time owners of the larger battery will get a lifetime warranty on the battery.

The smaller battery pack produces a maximum of 231PS and 380Nm of torque. The larger pack produces the same amount of torque but the power figure is bumped up to 286PS. With a 175kWh DC fast charger, it can fast charge from 20 to 80 percent in 20 minutes and while Pack 1 variants get RWD, Pack 2 and Pack 3 variants will feature AWD.

The BE 6 has an MIDC range of 556km for the smaller battery and 682km for the larger one. As for the XEV 9e, the 59kWh battery pack can travel 542km while the 79kWh battery can go up to 656km on the MIDC cycle.

Mahindra BE 6: Interior and Features

Mahindra says that the SUV's cabin takes inspiration from fighter jets. The floating panel above the centre console defines the driver's cockpit, which gives the arrangement a futuristic feel. It has a sporty two-spoke octagonal steering wheel with an illuminated BE logo in the centre and a sleek black glass screen with integrated toggle buttons for ADAS and other features.

Two 12.3-inch floating displays running a new program named MAIA manage the instrumentation and entertainment tasks. Features include dual-zone climate control, drive modes, wireless phone charging, Dolby Atmos 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ambient lighting, powered driver's seat, panoramic sunroof, connected car technology, 5G connectivity with in-built Wi-Fi, an AI (artificial intelligence) interface, 7-airbags, ADAS, a 360-degree and a lot more.

Mahindra XEV 9e: Interior and Features

While the BE 6e only features two screens in its cabin, the XEV 9e goes a step further and showcases three 12.3-inch high-resolution screens. the third screen will sit in front of the co-passenger. A two-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel with an illuminated emblem is another feature of the electric SUV as well as HVAC controls in the centre console.

Other features include a panoramic glass roof, wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, dual-zone climate control, multi-colour ambient lighting, powered and ventilated front seats, 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, cruise control, multiple wireless phone chargers, connected car technology, 7 airbags, a 360-degree camera, auto park, multiple ADAS tech and much more.
