Mahindra BE 6e & XEV 9e to make global debut tomorrow

Mahindra is all set to bring in a new age of EVs tomorrow with the BE 6e and XEV 9e. These two new SUVs will be the first of many more electric offerings from Mahindra. Ahead of the launch, the brand has been dropping a few teasers and design sketches of what the new cars will look like. Here are a few details we know about the upcoming vehicles ahead of their debut tomorrow.

The BE 6e and XEV 9e share a lot of similarities with their concept models. Notably, the brand's INGLO platform - a ground-up EV architecture - will support both models.

Mahindra also recently confirmed that the BE 6e and XEV 9e would come with 59kWh or 79kWh battery packs. The batteries can be charged from 20 percent to 80 percent in under 20 minutes using a 175kW DC fast charger. We expect the power output figures to range between 220PS and 290PS. Both cars will also be offered as RWD or AWD much like Mahindra's ICE portfolio.

The illuminated BE and Mahindra Infinity emblems on the BE 6e and XEV 9e, respectively, are among the new elements shown by the most recent teaser photos. Both SUVs use state-of-the-art LED light strips and combine strong SUV features with a futuristic design aesthetic, suggesting both their potent performance and Mahindra's goal to dominate the global EV market.

On the inside, the car will feature an almost similar dash layout as the XUV700 with a new flair. The twin 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment and driver instrumentation are also visible in the teasers but we expect these cars to have a new updated version. The XEV 9e will go a step further and also offer a third screen for the front passenger.

A panoramic sunroof, new seats and upholstery, a new two-spoke steering wheel, a redesigned centre console and gear lever, drive modes, a Harman Kardon sound system, a rotary dial, auto-dimming IRVM, dual-zone temperature control and level-2 ADAS are among the features that the new XEV 9e and BE 6e will have inside.
