Mahindra five-door Thar spotted again
Mahindra's one of the most anticipated upcoming cars, the five-door Thar, has been spotted again. This time, the latest spy photos revealed a partly camouflaged interior of the SUV.
The Mahindra five-door Thar: Interior
If the spy photos are to go by, the SUV appears to be a near-production-ready model. The interior of the five-door Thar looks identical to the three-door version except for several noticeable changes. The prototype model was equipped with a new, wide front centre armrest and captain seats in the second row. It is hard to say whether Mahindra will offer the five-door Thar with a bench seat in the second row or captain seats as seen in the pictures. The SUV also might get a third-row seating option.
The Mahindra five-door Thar: Exterior
We expected the exterior design of the five-door version to be similar to the on-sale three-door Thar. However, Mahindra could bestow it with a few distinctive design elements to differentiate both models in terms of design. It may also get a new set of wheels.
The Mahindra five-door Thar: Powertrain and mechanicals
The upcoming five-door Thar is likely to benefit from the same mStallion 2.0-litre petrol engine and mHawk 2.2-litre diesel motor. Both could be paired with a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic. Meanwhile, the five-door Thar is expected to leverage the pentalink suspension system like the new Scorpio-N.
