Mahindra Thar Roxx interior pictures leaked ahead of launch
While Mahindra has given away the design of the Thar 5-door or officially the Thar Roxx in the last couples teasers, a new batch of spy shots has revealed fresh details about its interior. However, the model seen in the picture is an apparently mid-spec RWD variant. Notably, a large panoramic sunroof has already been confirmed for the SUV, which should be available only in top-spec 4WD variants.
The new spy pictures of the Thar Roxx's interior show a white-ish upholstery, frameless IRVM, new steering wheel similar to the XUV700, an analogue instrument cluster, larger touchscreen infotainment system (probably an eight- or 10.25-inch unit), split front armrests, grab handles for the second-row, and a manual gear stick. However, this model does not have a 4WD selector, which indicates that it is a rear-wheel drive version.
Mahindra Thar Roxx: Key features
Unlike the Thar shown in the pictures, the top variants of the Thar Roxx will likely come with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Adrenox, a 10.25-inch all-digital instrument cluster, wireless charging pad, dual-zone temperature control, telematics, connected car tech, USB Type-C and Type-A ports, an electronic 4WD mode selector, four- or six-speaker sound system, six airbags, hill hold control, hill descent control, brake assist, ESP, TPMS, traction control, drive and terrain modes, and voice assistant, among others.
Mahindra Thar Roxx: Powertrain
The new Thar Roxx is expected to get the same engines as the Thar: a 2.0-litre, inline four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine generating 152PS and 300Nm of torque (320Nm with AT) and a 2.2-litre inline four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel unit that delivers 132PS and 300Nm of torque. Also, there is a possibility of Mahindra offering it with more powerful petrol and diesel engines from the Scorpio-N, which makes 175PS/370Nm of torque (400Nm with AT) in petrol version and 200PS/370Nm (380Nm with AT) in diesel guise.
Mahindra Thar Roxx: PriceThe price of the Mahindra Thar Roxx is likely to range between Rs 13-16 lakh and Rs 19-22 lakh. In comparison, the Thar costs Rs 11.35-17.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will take on the Force Gurkha 5-door and Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door.
