Mahindra Thar Roxx interior revealed with more features than current 3-door Thar

It feels like forever since we've been waiting for the 5-door Thar and now that we know the "Thar Roxx" will be unveiled this Independence Day, Mahindra has teased the upcoming car's interior. It's safe to say that the cabin of the vehicle is completely different from the existing 3-door iteration. The Roxx will get features that will align it more with Mahindra's newer portfolio of vehicles like the XUV700 and XUV 3XO.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Interior & Features

The Thar Roxx will get beige colour seats as well as a beige roof but the dashboard will be black in colour. The dash will also use soft-touch material to appeal to its expected high price tag. The front two seats are also expected to be ventilated.

The new car will feature the upmarket digital instrument panel and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen lifted straight from the XUV 3XO. From the teaser, we can also see that although it will get a single-zone climate control, the Roxx will get the Harman Kardon-sourced audio system.

Lower variants are expected to only get single pane sunroof but what we know for sure is that the top variants will come with a full-fledged panoramic sunroof. Other features include a 360-degree camera, a wireless phone charger, keyless entry, an auto-dimming IRVM cruise control, 6 airbags (as standard), ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill-ascent control, front and rear parking sensors, and ADAS.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Powertrains

The new Thar Roxx is expected to get the same engines as the Thar: a 2.0-litre, inline four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine generating 152PS and 300Nm of torque (320Nm with AT) and a 2.2-litre inline four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel unit that delivers 132PS and 300Nm of torque. Also, there is a possibility of Mahindra offering it with more powerful petrol and diesel engines from the Scorpio-N, which makes 175PS/370Nm of torque (400Nm with AT) in petrol version and 200PS/370Nm (380Nm with AT) in diesel guise.

The price of the Mahindra Thar Roxx is likely to range between Rs 13-16 lakh and Rs 19-22 lakh. In comparison, the Thar costs Rs 11.35-17.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will take on the Force Gurkha 5-door and Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door.
