Mahindra XUV300 facelift to get a more powerful engine option
The Mahindra XUV300 Sportz model has been seen testing, pointing to a soon-to-be-announced debut. The 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine that is now offered with the subcompact SUV has been upgraded to be more powerful and dynamic.
Additionally, Mahindra has unveiled a teaser for the new, more powerful XUV300. The redesigned XUV300 will include the long-delayed 1.2-litre mStallion direct-injection turbo-petrol engine, according to the spy photographs, which prominently display the T-GDI badging on the car.
This three-cylinder engine produces 130PS and 230 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It also has start-stop technology.
This is a 20PS and 30Nm boost over the usual 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. An additional engine option for the XUV300 is a 117PS/300Nm diesel unit.
Both the petrol and diesel engines in the basic SUV are available with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed AMT option. It is uncertain if the Sportz will receive the AMT or a different automatic transmission entirely, despite the fact that the manual transmission should be available.
The XUV300 Sportz will have a redesigned front fascia with the Mahindra dual peaks emblem, variation badging in red, T-GDI badges, and a distinctive set of alloy wheels, according to the spy photos.
It is anticipated that there won't be many changes at the back. A new touchscreen infotainment system and interiors that are black with red stitching are anticipated for the XUV300 facelift.
The Mahindra XUV300 will continue to rival the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
