Maruti Suzuki Ertiga based XL6 MPV reveals details ahead of its August 21 India launch
In the further development of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga based cross MPV, new spy shots reveal more details about the XL6. The new spy shots show the fascia that gets a different treatment to separate it from the Ertiga.
The grille is designed differently and the bumpers now get extra body cladding and a skid/bash plate. The headlamp assembly is different - gets a projector setup and the LED DRLs are positioned inward in alignment with the chrome strips on the grille.
On the sides, the MPV gets extra body cladding on the wheel arches and roof rails. The alloys, however, stay the same but this time painted in gloss black.
Inside, the spy shots reveal that the cabin will be identical to the one in Ertiga, although the big change is seen in the second row. The XL6 will be a six-seater and will have captain seats in the middle row instead of a bench that accommodates three passengers. Also, the XL6 will get the four-speed automatic transmission.
The engines on offer could be the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel mated to five and six-speed gearbox respectively. Expect the engines to be BSVI compliant as the XL6 will be positioned above the Ertiga and will ask a premium price. Speaking of the premium pricing, the XL6 will be sold through Maruti Suzuki's NEXA dealerships.
Post its launch on August 21, the XL6 will create a niche segment of its own in the Indian market. Expect the prices to be hiked by Rs 40,000-50,000 over the Ertiga and the new MPV could retail between Rs 8-11.5 lakh.
