The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been the pick of the cars in the MPV segment in India for a long time now. It's spacious enough, rides comfortably and is quite friendly to your wallet. The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga aims to offer all these aspects plus a few additional creature comforts. Let's take a look at the differences between the new and the outgoing models of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
While the general profile is similar to the previous generation, there are a few design differences, such as a bolder front end with a slightly revised projector headlight cluster and a new pattern on the front grille. It also receives new bumpers that have been reworked. The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga side design has chrome door handles and a single conspicuous crease to give it a sporty look.
The most noticeable difference has to be the new set of 16-inch alloy wheels and a new chrome strip on the boot. There are two new colour options as well, Splendid Silver and Dignity Brown.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga- Engine and MileageThe 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga facelift now gets the updated 1.5-litre K15C four-cylinder petrol. This motor comes equipped with the DualJet tech which improves overall efficiency and driveability although power figures have dropped marginally by 2PS and 1 Nm to 103PS and 136.8 Nm. In the CNG variant, the outputs drop slightly to 100PS and 136 Nm in the petrol mode while in the CNG mode this drops further to 88PS and 121.5 Nm.
Maruti Suzuki has ditched the old 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission and has replaced it with a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The new Maruti Ertiga has a better fuel efficiency than the previous model. Its manual versions are expected to return 20.51 kmpl, while automatic ones are to be somewhere around the 20.30 kmpl mark. The new Maruti Ertiga CNG has a mileage of 26.11 km/kg.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga- Interior and Safety
The inside has been updated with a sculpted dashboard and dual-tone seat fabric in a new Metallic Teak Wooden finish. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga features a new 7-inch SmartPlay Pro infotainment system with smartphone connection and an inbuilt voice assistant (enabled with the "Hi Suzuki" command). Suzuki Connect, which is embedded into the car, has over 40 functions for vehicle safety and security, status warnings, journeys and driving habits, and remote operations.
The Maruti MPV now gets four airbags, stability control and a hill-hold function on the top trims. Standard safety equipment includes ISOFIX seats and all mandated safety features like dual airbags, ABS, seatbelt reminders and speed buzzers.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga- PricePrices for the facelifted Maruti Suzuki Ertiga also witness a slight bump with the base variant starting at Rs 8.35 lakh compared to the older one's 8.12 lakh. A top of the line ZXi Plus automatic will cost you Rs 12.79 lakh.
