Maruti Suzuki Fronx with ADAS on the cards?

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx has become one of the most well-liked sub-4-meter SUVs in India. Recently, Suzuki introduced the Fronx, equipped with the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), in Japan. This car has now been spotted been spotted testing in India and by the looks of it, the Fronx with ADAS tech is expected to launch in India in the coming months.

A test vehicle with very little camouflage has been spotted testing in India now. The front grille looks similar to the normal Fronx that is currently on sale, but in the middle is a trapezoidal radar module and two parking sensors, much like what is seen on the Japanese spec car.

The Fronx is currently manufactured in India and exported to Japan. So it's still too early to say if this is being tested for the Indian market or if the brand is planning to launch the car in another overseas market. At the moment, Maruti Suzuki doesn't sell any of their cars in India with any sort of ADAS tech.

The Japanese version of the Fronx also gets a bigger 1.5-litre hybrid engine with AWD. For reference, in India, we still only get the 1.2-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol. There is also a CNG version on sale.

The safety features offered on the Indian spec Fronx include up to six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), hill-hold assist, a 360-degree camera, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. The Fronx is currently priced from Rs 7.51 lakh to Rs 13.03 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
