Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Fronx gather over 39,000 bookings
Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Fronx have received more than 39,000 bookings in India. The long-awaited Jimny constitutes over 23,500 reservations, while the Fronx has gathered over 15,500 bookings. The automaker showcased both models at the Auto Expo 2023 in New Delhi in January this year. Notably, the Jimny and Fronx have started arriving at Nexa dealerships across India.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Variants, colours, and powertrain
The much-awaited Jimny is available in two variants: Zeta and Alpha, across five mono-tone and two dual-tone colour schemes. The single-tone paint options include Pearl Arctic White, Nexa Blue, Sizzling Red, Bluish Black, and Granite Grey, whereas the dual-tone shades include Kinetic Yellow and Sizzling Red with Bluish Black roof.
Powering the Jimny is a K15B 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 105PS and 134.2Nm of torque. This motor comes mated to a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Maruti also offers its AllGrip Pro four-wheel drive with low-range transfer gear.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Variants, colours, and powertrain
The brand offers the Baleno-based Fronx in a choice of five variants, namely Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha. It is available in five mono-tone shades: Artic White, Grandeur Grey, Earthen Brown, Opulent Red, and Splendid Silver. The crossover also comes in three dual-tone paint schemes: Earthen Brown, Splendid Silver, and Opulent Red with Bluish Black roof.
The Fronx is powered by a 1.0-litre, inline-three-cylinder, turbocharged Boosterjet petrol engine and a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated Dual Jet and Dual VVT petrol motor. The former is paired with a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, while the latter is coupled to a five-speed manual or five-speed AMT transmission. The 1.0-litre Boosterjet generates 100PS and 148Nm of torque, whereas the 1.2-litre unit produces 90PS and 113Nm of torque.
