Maruti Suzuki Jimny five-door ARAI fuel efficiency figures revealed
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny five-door ARAI-tested fuel economy figures have been disclosed ahead of its imminent launch. Equipped with a K15B 1.5-litre petrol engine, the SUV comes with both manual and automatic transmission options. Maruti recently commenced production of the five-door Jimny in Haryana, India. It has said to have already garnered over 30,000 bookings and is currently showcased at select Nexa showrooms nationwide. The Jimny five-door was first unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023 in Delhi.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny: ARAI Mileage
The Jimny, when equipped with the five-speed manual transmission, gives out an ARAI-certified fuel economy of 16.94 kmpl. Meanwhile, the Jimny with the four-speed automatic transmission has a mileage of 16.39 kmpl. With a full tank of petrol, the SUV can travel up to 678 km with the manual transmission and 656 km with the automatic transmission. Notably, it has a fuel tank capacity of 40 litres.
Powering the Maruti Jimny is a 1.5-litre, inline four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 105PS of power and 134.5Nm of torque. This engine is mated to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, it features the brand's AllGrip Pro 4x4 system.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Variants, Colours, and Dimensions
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is available in two variants: Zeta and Alpha. In terms of dimensions, it measures 3,985mm in length, 1,645mm in width, and 1,720mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,590mm. For comparison, the Jimny's direct competitor, the Mahindra Thar, has dimensions of 3,985mm in length, 1,820mm in width, 1,850mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,450mm. While the Thar boasts a ground clearance of 226mm, the Jimny offers a ground clearance of 210mm.
The carmaker provides the Jimny in two dual-tone paint schemes and five single-tone colour options. The dual-tone shades include Kinetic Yellow with a Bluish Black roof and Sizzling Red with a Bluish Black roof. On the other hand, the five colour options are Bluish Black, Granite Grey, Sizzling Red, Pearl Arctic White, and Nexa Blue.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Features and Safety Equipment
The top-spec Alpha variant of the five-door Jimny offers a plethora of features, including an engine start/stop switch, LED projector headlights with washer, automatic headlamps, fog lamps, a nine-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six airbags, ESP, hill hold control, hill descent control, and ABS, among others.
