Maruti Suzuki recalls 9,925 units of the Wagon R, Celerio and Ignis
Maruti Suzuki has recalled 9,925 units of the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Celerio and Ignis. This is to rectify a possible defect in the rear brake assembly pin on cars manufactured between August 3 and September 1, 2022.
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Celerio and Ignis recall reasonMaruti Suzuki said in a statement, "It is suspected that there is a possible defect in the rear brake assembly pin ('Part'), which in a certain case, may break and cause a peculiar noise. There may be a possibility of an impact on brake performance in the long run."
The company went on to add that it will replace the faulty part out of precaution and safety of customers free of cost. Customers of the affected vehicles will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki service centres. The required repair work will be conducted post-inspection, if necessary.
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Celerio and Ignis specs, pricesThe Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and Ignis are both powered by the 1.2-litre K12N Dualjet petrol motor that puts out 90PS and 113 Nm and pairs with a five-speed manual or AMT. The WagonR can also be had with the smaller 1.0-litre K10C petrol motor that it shares with the Celerio, putting out 67PS and 89 Nm.
Prices for the Wagon R start from Rs 5.47 lakh, the Celerio starts from Rs 5.25 lakh while the Ignis can be had from Rs 5.35 lakh.
