Maruti Suzuki reintroduce Brezza MT with mild hybrid tech
Maruti Suzuki has quietly reintroduced the mild hybrid technology in the Brezza's higher-end ZXI and ZXI+ models. In July 2023, Maruti quietly revised the Brezza lineup, removing the mild-hybrid technology from the compact SUV's manual variants. With the reintroduction of hybrid assistance in the manual transmissions the Brezza now boasts a better fuel economy rating.
The mild hybrid tech was reserved only for the AT variants until now. With the inclusion of this tech, the mileage of the MT versions has increased by 2.51kmpl, moving from 17.38kmpl to 19.89kmpl. On the other hand, the AT and CNG models return 19.80kmpl and 25.51kmkg, respectively.
The setup is a 48V self-charging mild hybrid system that is paired with a 1.5-litre K15C 4-cylinder NA petrol engine that produces 103PS and 136Nm of torque. The same motor produces 87PS and 121Nm of torque in the CNG mode.
The Maruti Suzuki Brezza was the most successful SUV of 2023 and is offered in four trim levels: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi (O), as well as six colour options: Pearl Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Magma Grey, Sizzling Red, Brave Khakhi, and Exuberant Blue.
The pricing of the Brezza ranges from Rs 8.29 lakh to Rs 14.14 lakh (ex-showroom) and the brand had also recently announced that the car had also completed a 10 lakh unit sales milestone. The Brezza takes on the likes of the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Mahindra XUV300 in the Indian market.
