Maruti Suzuki to etch SWIFT on the Indian map
If you are an Indian automotive enthusiast, then in all likelihood, you are already aware of the prestigious Indian Car of The Year (ICOTY) Award. The 2019 ICOTY award was bagged by the Maruti Suzuki Swift - a hatchback that is much loved not only in India, but also around the globe, and every generation of this model line that was sold in India has won the prestigious ICOTY award. Therefore, Maruti Suzuki has decided to celebrate this hat-trick in style. Through a series of road trips involving the Swift and the participating publications of the ICOTY, Maruti Suzuki will etch the word SWIFT on the map of India using GPS art.
The road trip will cover 125 cities, panning across 7,280kms and seven days. The word SWIFT will be etched vertically across the map of India. The letters 'S' and 'W' will originate from Etawah and Jhansi respectively in Uttar Pradesh, 'I' from Nagpur in Maharashtra, 'F' from Khammam in Telangana, and 'T' from Ongole in Andhra Pradesh. The Swift cars that will participate in this initiative were flagged-off from New Delhi on February 7, and have reached their respective starting points. The road trips begin tomorrow with each participating publication of the ICOTY taking the responsibility of a certain leg of the journey. OVERDRIVE will begin their road trip in Ongole - a quaint town known for its religious landscape. We will drive the Swift all the way to Chennai, so do give us a shout out if you spot us along the way. You can track our journey on all our social media handles - so let the suggestions and wishes pour in.
