Mercedes-AMG E 63 goes under the knife
Mercedes-AMG has also revised its contender in the sports-sedan space, with the heavily updated E 63. The front end now features the styling updates from the new E-Class facelift. The grille is derived from the Panamerica units seen in the GT models, and along with the larger air dams below it, allow for better cooling. The headlamps are of a more squared-off shape, while the front apron has been heavily redesigned as well. At the rear, there is the new twin-part LED taillamps and a redesigned bumper with aero benefits. Rounding these off are new 19-inch wheels for the E 63 and 20-inchers for the E 63 S.
Inside, there is the new dual-screen MBUX infotainment set up, along with the new twin-spoke AMG steering wheel. These also feature the display buttons seen on the GT models. Lastly, the E 63's wider track and beefier body panels remain.

The 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 hasn't been fettled with in this update. It continues to put out 571PS/750 Nm in standard and 612PS/850 Nm is S trim. This gives the E 63 a 0 to 100 kmph time of 3.5s and the S can do the same run in 3.4s. Top speed is 250 kmph and 290 kmph with the Drivers package as standard in the S. The engine puts its power down via the 4Matic AWD(with RWD Drift mode) and a nine-speed automatic.
