Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe & CLE Cabriolet launched in India

German automaker Mercedes-Benz India has launched the all-new AMG GLC 43 Coupe 4Matic and CLE Cabriolet in India at Rs 1.10 crore (ex-showroom) and Rs 1.10 crore (ex-showroom).

Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 Cabriolet

The India-spec CLE Cabriolet is available in the C300 trim. Positioned above the C-Class, is based on Mercedes' Modular Rear Architecture (MRA) platform and blends design elements from both the C-Class and E-Class. The convertible roof is made from multi-layered fabric to protect against sound and weather, available in black, grey, and red. The roof can open or close in about 20 seconds at speeds up to 60kmph.

Inside, the cabin features a 12.3-inch driver display and an 11.9-inch central touchscreen slightly angled towards the driver, along with circular air vents. Optional features include seat ventilation and a seven-zone massage function. There is also a 64-colour ambient lighting system and a standard Burmester surround sound system with Dolby Atmos.

It comes powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 258PS and 400Nm of torque. The convertible also gets mild-hybrid functionality that provides a brief boost of 23PS/205Nm. With this, the CLE 300 can go from zero to 100kmph in 6.6 seconds and tops out at 250kmph.

The GLC 43 Coupe remins larley similar to the GLC but features sporty design elements, such as a slanting roofline, 21-inch AMG alloy wheels and AMG styled bumpers, and signature grille. Inside, the it boasts an AMG steering wheel, sport seats, AMG pedals, and AMG-specific graphics in the infotainment and driver display.

The new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe is powered by a 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a mild hybrid motor, generating 421PS at 6,750rpm and 500Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. The 48V mild hybrid system provides an additional 14PS boost. Notably, the GLC 43 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kmph.

The engine is mated to AMG's Speedshift MCT nine-speed automatic transmission and a rear-wheel-biased 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. The GLC 43 features AMG Ride Control steel spring suspension, an adaptive damping system, rear-axle steering, AMG sports brakes, and an AMG exhaust system.
