Mercedes-AMG now has 2 of their flagship sedan made available in India in the form of the GT 63 S E Performance and the EQS 53. While both cars are worlds apart mechanically, they both serve one common purpose, exhilarating performance. The AMG GT 63 S E Performance has just been launched in the country while the AMG EQS 53 was launched in India in August 2022. Both sedans have an AWD drivetrain. The AMG GT 63 S E Performance is not only the first-ever hybrid AMG but is also the most-powerful AMG to date. It gets a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine linked to an electric motor and a small battery pack. While the engine produces 639PS and 900Nm of torque, the motor can generate 204PS and 320Nm. The combined power output of the engine and motor is rated at 843PS and 1,470Nm. Meanwhile, this hybrid system is paired with an AMG Speedshift MCT 9G automatic transmission.
The AMG EQS 53 is derived from the standard EQS, the EV equivalent of the S-Class, but comes with a host of AMG-specific enhancements. So in standard form, the AMG EQS 53 puts out 667PS and 950 Nm. Specified with the optional AMG Dynamic Plus package and with launch control activated, the electric AMG ups this to 771PS and 1050 Nm. In this guise, the AMG EQS 53 can do 0 to 100 kmph in 3.4s and reach a 250 kmph top speed. In standard form, this drops to 3.8s and 220 kmph.

Being a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, it also comes with a charging port located at the back.

The Mercedes EQS 53 is undoubtedly the more luxurious one in terms of looks. For reference, the AMG Dynamic Select provides an array of modes, such as Electric, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Race, Slippery, and Individual. Meanwhile, it gets AMG hybrid-specific 12-inch widescreen display.
The highlight of the EQS 53 has o be the full-width 56-inch hyperscreen and it gets AMG-specific graphics and information. There are AMG-specific seats, steering wheel and pedals while the interior is done up in leather and micro-fibre highlights.
