Mercedes-AMG SL55 will debut in India on June 22
Mercedes-Benz will introduce the SL roadster in India on June 22, 2023. The classic Mercedes-Benz SL, now in its seventh generation, will be offered in India as the SL55 roadster and imported as a CBU.
The SL has been one of the longest-standing names in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. The SL has been a popular model for Mercedes-Benz in India, with examples of practically every iteration available. The Mercedes-Benz SL was only available in India in its fifth generation, which debuted in 2012. The sixth-generation SL was not available in India.
The current Mercedes-AMG SL is totally new in comparison to its predecessor. The soft-top roadster receives a brand-new architecture, design, and technology, as well as a two-row seating arrangement. The new SL will take the place of the GT Roadster and is available only as an AMG variant.
The Mercedes-AMG SL55 will be available in India, reintroducing the '55' designation to a Mercedes-AMG model for the first time since the G55 SUV was discontinued in 2012. It's driven by Mercedes-AMG's 4.0-litre twin-turbo, V8 petrol engine, which produces 478PS and 700Nm. AMG's 4Matic+ all-wheel drive, comes as standard.
The Mercedes-Benz SL gets a leather-lined, four-seat arrangement within the cabin. The car also comes equipped with the newest MBUX infotainment system, which has a big 11.9-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen. The 12.3-inch completely digital instrument cluster is joined with a touchscreen that can tilt forward for convenience of operation. It also comes with an augmented reality head-up display.
