Mercedes-Benz completes 1,000 deliveries under its direct-to-customer policy
Mercedes-Benz India started its new 'Retail of the Future' sales model in October of this year, and it has now stated that over 1,000 Mercedes-Benz cars have been delivered under the revolutionary direct-to-customer sales approach.
Mercedes now owns and administers the whole stock of its vehicles across the country as part of its new business strategy. Dealers' commercial viability increases since they are no longer needed to make large capital expenditures in inventory.
Mercedes now controls prices and offerings from a central location. While clients can no longer negotiate deals with dealers, it does ensure that all states have the same ex-showroom costs. Dealers must now compete on the basis of the buying experience they give, which Mercedes feels is advantageous to customers.
Customers who have reserved automobiles for the MY 21 model year will receive price protection from Mercedes-Benz India. Customers who reserve a chosen range of Mrcedes-Benz cars, including the A-Class, GLA and E-Class, until December 31, 2021, will receive a price guarantee. As a sign of appreciation for their lengthy wait, Mercedes-Benz has additionally extended the price protection to clients who have ordered the GLE 400 & GLE 400d SUVs and have been waiting for their Mercedes since April.
In October, Mercedes-Benz sold its last model to an official dealer in India. Since then, the business has sold automobiles directly to clients, leaving dealerships to handle only test drives and vehicle delivery.
Martin Schwenk, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India commented, "Delivering the thousandth Mercedes-Benz within a short span under the ROTF platform strongly validates our vision of reimagining customer excellence while empowering the franchise partners financially with this new business model. It is particularly satisfying to witness our months of hard work bearing fruits in the form of successful implementation of ROTF and a high level of acceptance from our customers. It gives us tremendous confidence about ROTF as the future of luxury retail, since our customers were highly convinced with this new retail experience, which enriched their customer journey with Mercedes-Benz."
