Mercedes-Benz EQA: Exterior and Interior

The EQA, which will be positioned below the EQB in the brand's India portfolio, is an electrified version of the ICE-powered A-Class. The EQA first debuted back in 2021 and the car got an update in 2023. The facelifted car will be the one that will be on its way to India. The design has a blanked-off grille with an LED light bar on top, dual-tone bumpers, and multi-spoke alloy wheels. The EQA looks more crossover than SUV which will make it more affordable than the EQB. At the rear, there's a full-width light bar much like the one on the EQB.

On the inside, the EQA's dash is largely a carryover from the GLA. The new Mercedes-Benz EQA will include twin 10.25-inch displays, a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, turbine-style AC vents, automated temperature management, the newest MBUX system, and a Burmester-sourced audio system.

Mercedes-Benz EQA: Powertrain

Globally, the EQA comes in four trims: EQA 250, EQA 250+, EQA 300 4Matic, and EQA 350 4Matic. The EQA 250+ model has a 70.5kWh battery with a range of up to 560km (WLTP), whilst the other variants have a 66.5kWh battery with a maximum range of 528km (WLTP cycle).

The 250 variants produce 190PS and 385Nm of torque. The 300 4Matic and 350 4Matic put out 228PS and 390Nm of torque and 292PS and 520Nm of torque respectively. We'll have to wait to see which powertrain is made available in India upon launch.

The EQA will go up against the likes of the Volvo XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge as well as the BMW iX1 and Kia EV6 that are already available in India.
