Mercedes-Benz India to showcase a concept car at Bharat Mobility Show 2025
As things start to heat up ahead of the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, Mercedes-Benz India has confirmed a long list of vehicles that will be on display. The list includes the electric G-Class, Mercedes-Maybach EQS Night Series and also the Concept CLA Class. Other cars like the SL 55, S 63 E Performance and the E 450 LWB AMG Line which are already on sale in India will also be on display.
The electric G will first be launched on January 9 after which it will make its way to the Expo. The chassis design, which is typical of the G-Class, is indeed very off-road competent, with independent suspension on the front axle and a stiff axle at the back, which was created specifically for the integration of the electric motor. The vehicle will have unique on and off-road driving qualities thanks to each wheel having its own individual electric motor.
The battery-powered G 580 with EQ Technology will have a 116kWh battery pack that provides up to 473km of range (WLTP). Known for its extreme 0ff-road nature, the electric G has four electric motors, 1 for each wheel. Combined, they produce a total of 587PS and 1,164Nm of torque. That's good enough to take this box on wheels from 0 to 100kmph in less than 5 seconds.
Mercedes-Benz CLA ConceptThe electric CLA concept coupe, which was based on the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA), made its premiere at the 2023 International Motor Show in Germany. The exterior of the Concept CLA Class is distinguished by iconic design motifs reinterpreted for the electric era. The dynamic shark-nose front end, in conjunction with the seamless "grille" panel, serves as a backdrop for an illuminated animated star pattern. The taillights are naturally three-pointed stars, and the same forms are carved into the glass roof, which also extends to create the back window.
Mercedes-Benz claims that the Concept CLA's powertrain previews 'next-generation electric-drive technology' for production EVs. It is based on the Vision EQXX and has a stated range of more than 750km. The Concept CLA-Class has a 250-kilowatt DC rapid charging capacity thanks to its 800-volt electrical design, allowing it to add an estimated 400km of range in 15 minutes.
The MMA platform that the CLA Concept is based on is the first to be entirely powered by MB.OS, Mercedes' own proprietary software system. The installed hardware is capable of Level 3 autonomous driving, which will be made accessible through an over-the-air upgrade whenever Mercedes and local governments are ready.
Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV 680 Night SeriesThe Maybach EQS SUV is already on sale in India at Rs 2.25 crore (ex-showroom). The 'Night Series' pack will bring along a black theme that will darken out most of the elements of the exterior and interior of the car. The SUV will continue to be powered by two electric motors. It will be capable of producing about 658PS of peak power and 950 Nm of peak torque. The electric SUV will have a peak speed of 210kmph and will be able to accelerate from a standstill to 100kmph in 4.4 seconds.
