MG Astor Blackstorm & Hector Snowstorm launched in India
JSW MG Motor India has launched the Hector Snowstorm Edition and the Astor Blackstorm Edition at Rs 21.53 lakh and Rs 13.45 lakh, respectively. All three seating configurations are available for the new special edition Hector, which is based on the one-below-top Sharp Pro variation. The Astor already had a Blackstorm Edition, but that model was based on a higher-spec trim level. This new edition brings Blackstorm to the mid-spec Select trim as well.
After the Gloster, the Hector is MG's second SUV to have the Snowstorm treatment. The roof and pillars of the Hector Snowstorm are completed in black while the predominant colour of the SUV is white. Along with the blacked-out bumper, badging, and 18-inch alloys, there's a dark chrome grille. Finally, there are red accents around the headlamp housing, rear bumper, ORVMs and even the brake callipers are red.
There have also been a few changes done to the cabin. The primary modification is the dashboard, which is completely black and has black seat coverings. To further fit with the overall motif, MG also changed the trim inserts with a gunmetal grey inlay. Lastly, to identify the special edition Snowstorm has been engraved on the front seat headrests.
The MG Hector Snowstorm has two engine options: a 2-litre diesel with 170PS/350Nm and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with 143PS/250Nm. While the petrol model comes with a CVT, the diesel model comes with a six-speed manual.
MG Astor Blackstorm EditionThe Astor Blackstorm has undergone updates that resemble previous ones. This implies that the body colour will remain black and will be enhanced with blacked-out emblems, dark design features, black alloy wheels, and a smoked-out headlight look. Its athletic vibe is enhanced by the red accents running throughout the body.
The Astor Blackstorm's cabin includes Tuxedo Black leather with red stitching and 'Blackstorm' embroidered on the front seat headrests. The steering wheel and door trims have red stitching, and the AC vents have red highlights. The equipment list for the Select trim is the same, with the exception of the new JBL speakers that are part of an accessory fitting.
A 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine producing 110PS and 144Nm powers the Astor Blackstorm. It comes with a CVT or a 5-speed manual transmission.
