MG Astor Blackstorm launched; prices start at Rs 14.48 lakh
British-origin automaker MG has launched the Astor Blackstorm in India with a starting price of Rs 14.48 (ex-showroom). This is the second Blackstorm vehicle from the brand after the Gloster Black Storm Edition. The all-black edition of the Astor is available with the naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual and automatic transmission options.
While the overall exterior design of the Astor Blackstorm is identical to the standard model, it features a range of all-black elements. MG has given it a black radiator grille, black roof rails, door garnish in black, black inserts in the headlamps, black alloy wheels, and Blackstorm badges on the fenders. The compact SUV also comes with red brake callipers similar to the Gloster Black Storm. Inside, the Astor Black Storm has a black theme that matches the exterior. There is a Tuxedo Black upholstery for the seats with red stitching, Sangria Red inserts on air-con vents, red stitching on dashboard and steering wheel, and black console tunnel.
MG Astor Blackstorm: FeaturesThe Astor Black Storm comes fitted with JBL speakers, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, connected car tech, digital instrument cluster, and a rear view camera, dual front airbags, ESP, hill hold and descent control, ABS with EBD, TPMS, among others.
MG Astor Blackstorm: Powertrain
While the Astor comes powered by two engines, the Astor Blackstorm gets a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 110PS and 140Nm of torque. This motor is mated to a five-speed gearbox and a CVT automatic transmission. On the other hand, the regular Astor is powered by a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit that makes 140PS and 250Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
MG Astor Blackstorm: PricesThe Astor Blackstorm MT costs Rs 14,47,800 (ex-showroom), whereas the Astor Blackstorm AT comes with a price tag of Rs 15,76,800 (ex-showroom).
