MG Comet EV: Design and Powertrain

The MG Comet EV has a distinct and quirky design. It has a quadricycle-like design with upscale characteristics such as split headlights, LED elements across the width of the car, dazzling alloy wheels, a tall C-Pillar, and a dual-tone paint job. It's basically a two-door small EV that seats up to four people. Meanwhile, the MG Comet measures 2,974mm in length, 1,505mm in width, 1,631mm tall and has a 2,010mm wheelbase.

Powering the MG Comet is a 17.3kWh battery pack that provides an ARAI-certified driving range of 230km. The power output of the electric motor paired with the battery pack is rated at 42PS.

MG Comet EV: Interiors and Features

Step inside, and the Comet has a relatively welcoming cabin with a dual 10.25-inch screen setup taking centre stage. The two-spoke steering wheel is a neat touch and features some controls inspired by the Apple iPod to make your journey a little easier. Other features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry, over 55 connected car features, push pedal start, a digital key, power windows, a grey interior theme and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Getting into the back is not a hassle as it's just one lever on the passenger side that takes the whole seat ahead. While there isn't too much room in the back the big windows (they don't open) won't make rear passengers feel too nauseous.

Safety features include twin front airbags, ABS with EBD, a rear parking camera, electronic stability control (ESC), a seat-belt reminder system, a speed alert system and TPMS. The MG Comet will take on the likes of the Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3 in India.
