MG Gloster SUV teased ahead of festive season debut, interiors and features revealed
MG Motor India has revealed new details of the MG Gloster premium SUV ahead of its debut in the next few weeks. The Gloster will be priced slightly higher than the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour between Rs 40 to 45 lakhs is larger and promises features and tech so far seen only in the luxury segment.
The big highlights here are the lane departure warning function and an auto-park feature. Also expected is adaptive cruise control (ACC) and lane-keeping assistance (LKA). The basic layout and design of the Gloster have been carried over from the Maxux D90 but there are some key differences. Noticeable here is the new flat-topped chrome-shifter, and an all-black colour scheme, the upholstery pattern is different too. Notable elements inside are a semi-digital instrument cluster, a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, ambient lighting, multi-zone climate control and so on. Other expected features are a 360-degree camera, TPMS, panoramic sunroof, an eight-way adjustable driver's seat and eight airbags.
The MG Gloster will also feature a new 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine making 218PS and 40 Nm. This is an in-house developed unit derived from the FCA Multijet diesel as seen on the Hector, and will be paired with an eight-speed automatic.
The Gloster measures 5,005mm in length, 1,932mm in width and 1,875mm in height. Also, the wheelbase measures 2,950mm. This makes it larger than the Fortuner and Endeavour but given the price, the MG SUV will come with the likes of the BMW X1 and the Volvo XC60.
