MG Motor India celebrates 100 years by updating the price of its entire portfolio
To commemorate its 100th anniversary, MG Motor India has updated the pricing of its complete product line in India. The Comet EV in the range has seen a major price decrease, and the all-electric car is now available for a starting price of Rs 6.99 lakh. The MG ZS EV on the other hand has a new entry-level variant and the remaining lineup too has had its pricing revised.
The MG Comet EV is available in three trim levels: Pace, Play, and Plus. While the carmaker has released the pricing of the entry-level Pace model, the prices for the other two variants remain unchanged. The Comet EV earlier had a starting price of Rs 7.98 lakh and is now priced at Rs 6.99 lakh.
The MG Comet EV is powered by a 42PS and 110Nm of torque rear-mounted e-motor and a 17.3kWh battery pack, with a range of 230 kilometres. This model does not have a rapid charging option, however, it takes seven hours to charge from zero to 100 percent using a 3.3kW home charger.
MG Motor India has also launched the ZS EV Executive variant which is the new base variant for the electric SUV and is priced at Rs 18.98 lakh. The MG ZS EV gets a larger 50.3 kWh pack with a more powerful electric motor putting out 176PS and 280Nm of torque. The ARAI-certified range has gone up to 461 km. The 2023 MG ZS EV can do 0 to 100 kmph in 8.5 seconds.
The MG Hector, the company's first-ever model in India, is now priced at Rs 14.94 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 17.50 lakh for the diesel. The Astor now starts at Rs 9.98 lakh, while the top Gloster SUV is priced at Rs 37.49 lakh.
