MG Motor India complete over 500 Astor deliveries on the occasion of Dhanteras
MG Motor India has delivered the first batch of more than 500 vehicles to clients on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras, after getting a positive reaction for Astor, India's first SUV with personal AI assistant and first-in-segment Autonomous (Level 2) technology.
Customers have welcomed the newly announced MG Astor in good fashion as was it was sold out for 2021 within 20 minutes after accepting reservations. This is especially noteworthy given the severe scarcity of chips. The firm is working hard to enhance availability in order to fulfil its initial goal of 4000-5000 deliveries by the end of December 2021.
The MG Astor is MG's take on the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq. MG also claims that this is the first vehicle to offer AI assistant and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
The two engines on offer is a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated unit which will be available with a manual or an automatic transmission and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol paired to an automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre unit will produce 110PS and 144 Nm of torque, while the 1.3-litre turbo unit will put out a healthy 140PS and 220 Nm of torque.
Six airbags, ABS, EBD, braking assist, ESP, traction control system, hill start aid, hill descent control, rear disc brakes and other safety equipment are included in the Astor. The MG Shield will come with a three-year unlimited warranty, three-year roadside assistance, and three years of labour-free service. There is also the option to extend the shield to five years for a little fee.
Bookings for the MG Astor's 2022 delivery are currently available. Customers may make a reservation either online or at an MG Motor India store near them. The MG Astor is available in nine models and five colour options, with an introductory price of 9.78 lakh.
