MG Motor India team up with BPCL to install 12 fast chargers on Delhi-Jalandhar highway
In collaboration with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., MG Motor India established 12 DC rapid charging stations for electric vehicles on the Delhi-Jalandhar route (BPCL).
On both sides of the first MG Motor-BPCL fast-charging highway route, charging stations will be positioned every 100 kilometres or so. This year, the strategic alliance between the two businesses hopes to install EV charging infrastructure along more of India's main thoroughfares.
Owners of MG ZS EVs receive special treatment at BPCL stations as well as 10 percent off of charging fees. Users of the MG ZS EV will be able to find the charging station via their dashboard and the MyMG App, and they may pay using the HelloBPCL smartphone app.
Speaking on the occasion, Gaurav Gupta, CCO, MG Motor India said, "MG has been at the forefront of the development of a strong EV ecosystem since the launch of the ZS EV in 2020. It brings us immense pride to announce the inauguration of twelve new DC fast-charging facilities across the most significant highway of the country in partnership with BPCL. We intend to establish a holistic ecosystem in India to accelerate EV adoption, and the new chargers at the BPCL fuel stations should provide the necessary impetus for people to switch to electric mobility."
Since its beginning, MG Motor India has installed its multi-step charging system in residential areas and MG shops, complete with AC chargers and DC fast chargers. A free AC fast-charger (placed at the customer's house or place of business), an expanded charging network, a plug-and-charge cable onboard, charge-on-the-go with RSA (Roadside Assistance), and community chargers are all additional services that MG offers to its clients. MG now has more than 8,000 EV chargers installed all throughout India.
