New 2014 Land Rover Evoque gets a 9-speed transmission
Land Rover has launched the 2014 Evoque with a few tweaks. The new Evoque has been introduced with ZF's 9-speed automatic transmission. The 2014 range will go on sale by the end of this year in UK and will have new driveline technologies, new driver assistance features and detailed design enhancements.
The ZF-9HP automatic transmission has an ultra-fast response time and an adaptive shift programme that quickly matches the driving style. A wide spread of ratios and improved efficiency lead to improved economy, reduced emissions, enhanced performance and better comfort.
The 2014 Evoque continues with Land Rover's range of four-cylinder engines like the 2.2 diesel 150PS engine, 2.2 diesel 190PS engine or 2.0 Petrol 240PS engine. With the new 9-speed automatic transmission and Active Driveline, fuel economy is improved by up to 11.4 percent and CO2 emissions are reduced by as much as 9.5 percent.
The Active Driveline is a new feature that allows the four-wheel drive vehicle to become a front-wheel drive whenever required and above 35kmph. It switches back when necessary in just about 3 seconds. The new Range Rover Evoque also gets some new technology, including a wading sensor for driving in water, a system that automatically exits parking bays, cruise control, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning and parking assist.
