The sedan recently made its debut in the country and prices are set to be announced next month. BMW will produce the new generation 5 Series LWB at its Chennai facility. Notably, are now able to reserve their new 5 Series from tomorrow at their nearest BMW showroom or via the BMW official website.
The engine details for the India-spec model are scarce at the moment. But we expect the automaker to provide 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine choices. In fact, the 530Li has already been showcased in the country with different tyres.
BMW 5 Series LWB: Design & InteriorThe brand showcased the 5 Series LWB alongside the electric i5 for the Chinese market in late 2023. These extended wheelbase versions promise more legroom and enhanced rear-seat comfort.
While the 5 Series LWB features a design identical to the standard 5 Series, a few elements set them apart. For instance, the 5 Series LWB keeps the illuminated kidney grille, but with a new bronze-finished frame. These bronze highlights also extend to the window frames, wheels, and bumpers. Additionally, the C-pillar, famously known as the Hofmeister kink, gets an engraved and illuminated "5" numeric. This comes in white for the 5 Series LWB and serene blue for the i5.
The addition of interior refinements distinguishes the long-wheelbase 5 Series as a saloon suitable for chauffeur-driven transportation. Complementing the unique exterior accents are door panels with bronze insets. With a primary focus on rear-seat comfort, the 5 Series LWB benefits from a variety of new features, such as the BMW Theater Screen âÂ" 31.1-inch curved 8K display with 5G support.
BMW 5 Series LWB: FeaturesOther features include a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system, four-zone temperature control, upgraded rear seats with distinctive leather upholstery and headrest cushions, and a fresh dual-tone theme. It also carries over the BMW Curved Display comprising a 12.3-inch driver display and a 14.9-inch central information hub, and crafted clarity glass controls, among others.
BMW 5 Series LWB: Price & Rivals
The prices of the previous generation model ranged between Rs 65.38 lakh and Rs 74.49 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the upcoming eight-gen 5 Series LWB might see a price hike with new prices starting from Rs 67-69 lakh and going up to 76-77 lakh. Upon launch, it will rival the Audi A6, Volvo S90, and the upcoming all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB.
