New engines for Audi A8 and Q7 in 2013
For the model year 2013, Audi will be using a new 426PS 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbocharged engine for the A8 instead of the regular 377PS 4.2-litre V8. The new engine also boasts of 550Nm of torque, 106 more than the outgoing version. Audi will however retain the supercharged 3.0-litre V6 and 6.3-litre W12 engines in the A8. Standard for the 2013 A8 will be Quattro system and eight-speed automatic transmissions.
The 2013 Q7 in the meanwhile gets a 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine which makes 243PS of power and 550Nm of torque. Audi claims that the new engine helps the Q7 to achieve a fuel efficiency of 7.98kmpl in the city and 11.76kmpl on the highway. The updated Q7 and A8 will be launched in North America later this year.
