New-gen KTM 390 Duke spotted testing again ahead of launch
The all-new KTM 390 Duke has been spotted testing again. This time, the near-production ready streetfighter was recently seen in Pune, Maharashtra. The new generation update is likely to bring significant changes to the 390 Duke in terms of bodywork, equipment, and chassis.
New KTM 390 Duke: Launch and Price
KTM is likely to unveil the new-gen 390 Duke at the upcoming EICMA 2023 in Milan, Italy. Upon its global debut, we expect KTM India to launch the motorcycle in India in early 2024. Not to mention, the new generation 390 Duke will command a higher premium over the on-sale 390 Duke.
New KTM 390 Duke: Design
A few weeks ago, the all-new 390 Duke was caught undergoing tests without camouflage, which revealed its production-spec bodywork. The highlight of the upcoming street naked motorcycle will be a new angular LED headlight, a new fuel tank with sharp tank shrouds, and a new taillamp. With this, the new-gen 390 Duke appears more aggressive and sportier.
Meanwhile, KTM has also said to have given the new 390 Duke a new trellis frame and aluminum subframe. As seen in the previous spy shots, the motorcycle also shows a new exhaust system and gullwing-type aluminium swing arm.
New KTM 390 Duke: Engine
Rumours have it that the upcoming new-gen 390 Duke could get a 399cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor instead of the 373.27cc unit with 43.5PS and 37Nm of torque. To support the rumours, the recent pictures of the test mule shows newly designed engine case and head. However, it is hard to say whether the higher displacement would mean more power output.
New KTM 390 Duke: Features and Specs
In terms of suspension, the next generation 390 Duke could feature adjustable front upside-down forks and rear monoshock. Both units may offer compression, rebound, and pre-load adjustability. Further, it is likely to get tweaked front and rear brakes.
On top of that the street fighter is expected to come with an upgraded TFT display and carry forward the same features as the on-sale model, such as ride-by-wire, dual-channel ABS, slipper clutch, and quick shifter. It would not be surprising if KTM offers more features with the new-gen model.
