New Hero Xtreme 160R 4V launched in India; prices start at Rs 1.27 lakh

After witnessing multiple spy pictures and several official teasers, Hero MotoCorp has launched the much awaited new Xtreme 160R 4V in India, with prices starting at Rs 1,27,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new naked motorcycle bears a host of significant updates, including a new engine. The Xtreme 160R 4V is available in a choice of three variants: Standard, Connected, and Pro. It is to be noted that Hero MotoCorp will open bookings for the Xtreme 160R from tomorrow, on 15 June, while deliveries will begin in the second week of July 2023.

New Hero Xtreme 160R 4V: Design

The new Xtreme 160R 4V bears a sporty and aggressive design compared to the Xtreme 160R 2V. The key highlights to the Xtreme 160R 4V is a new sharper headlamp, redesigned and muscular fuel tank, new panels around engine with '4V four valve' lettering, a step-up split seat (a single-piece is also available), new vivid graphics, and angular grab rails, among others. The naked motorcycle is offered in a choice of three paint schemes: Matte Slate Black, Neon Shooting Star, and Blazing Sports Red.

New Hero Xtreme 160R 4V: Hardware And Features

The major updates for the Xtreme 160R 4V come in the form of 37mm KYB front upside-down forks and an upgraded Bluetooth-enabled digital console, Hero Connect 2.0 that offers over 20 features. However, the Standard variant continues with telescopic front forks. Hero has also given it a seven-step adjustable monoshock, a 276mm front disc brake, a 220mm single disc brake, and all-LED lights. The bike retains a single-channel ABS setup.

New Hero Xtreme 160R 4V: Engine, Power Outputs, And Gearbox

Here is the crux of the upcoming Xtreme 160R 4V. The most significant update is a 163.2cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled, four-valve engine that makes 16.9PS at 8,500rpm and 14.6Nm of torque at 6,500rpm compared to 15.2PS/14Nm of the previous version. Mated to the engine is a five-speed gearbox. Notably, the motor is also BS6.2 (OBD.2) compliant and can run on E20 fuel.

New Hero Xtreme 160R 4V: Prices and rivals

The Standard and Connected variants of the Xtreme 160R 4V cost Rs 1,27,300 and Rs 1,32,800 (both ex-showroom, Delhi), whereas the range-topping Pro variant comes with a price tag of Rs 1,36,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The prices of the Xtreme 160R 2V model range between Rs 1.18 lakh and Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

The new Xtreme 160R 4V compete against Bajaj Pulsar NS160/Pulsar N160 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. In comparison, the prices of the Pulsar NS160 and N160 start at Rs 1.25 lakh and Rs 1.23 lakh (both ex-showroom). On the other hand, the Apache RTR 160 4V prices start from Rs 1.24 lakh (ex-showroom).
